Ritchie How To – Removing the valve chamber cover

We designed our automatic waterers to have our valve chamber cover fit into a water seal groove at the top of the waterer.  During the winter, the groove creates a channel for water that will freeze the cover down.  This is intentional.  We want your waterer valve to have the maximum protection against the cold winter conditions.  The ice forms a barrier that is fresh and new each time you remove the cover without the threat of having a gasket tear or crack.

Once frozen down, removing the lid may take a little work to remove.  However our Engineer Ed explains in this video how to remove the lid and provides additional tips to ease removal in the future.
